Collaboration In The Country Lifestyle

Eleanor Tomlinson x In The Country

Today’s focus is well and truly on Eleanor Tomlinson Art and my new collaboration with her to produce the In The Country 2021 wall calendar.

In addition to being a fellow young woman in business, Eleanor is an award-winning artist and illustrator based in Willerby, East Yorkshire. I knew when I saw Eleanor’s work that she was the one I wanted to collaborate with.

Having worked with the talented Rosie Young Illustration for the past two years, looking for a new artist to collaborate with was a daunting task as Rosie’s designs had been so well received and suited In The Country down to a ‘T’ at the time. However, I feel, now as the publication and title have evolved, it seems right that so too does our calendar and in working with Eleanor, I feel passionately that this has too.

Eleanor’s breathtaking art is inspired by the countryside and the wildlife and animals within it. Eleanor creates timeless original pieces and also designs and produces greetings cards, stationery, prints and exclusive homeware ranges alongside her original pieces. All of Eleanor’s products are produced with leading British manufacturers and suppliers. If you’re looking for some independently produced, country inspired gift ideas, head to Eleanor’s website to view her collection.

The calendar collaboration:

Creating the calendar is always something I get excited about since we launched the 2019 product. It fills me with the promise of Christmas and more than anything I love working together with other female entrepreneurs.

With the oddity that has been this year, I wanted to create a truly unique and special country scene for the cover, celebrating what life in the country is. You may also spot a familiar set of ears too… yep Simba made his way onto the cover!I can tell you now, Eleanor’s skill to transform my stick drawings into the masterpiece you see below is magic. And because here, I feel we know each other well enough, I want to share my sketch with you all and how we went from my vision to Eleanor’s interpretation and ultimately the finished cover. Art is not my strong point, I am sure you’ll agree but it is most definitely where Eleanor shines brightest.

Inside the calendar:

Flip over the spectacular cover and you’re presented with January; the start of the new year 2021. Each month has it’s own stunning art, followed by the dates below. Here’s a sneak peak at the layout.

Whilst normally, we include some of the ultimate countryside and equestrian events which are a must-visit, with the way 2020 has panned out, and the uncertainty of whether many of these events can go ahead or when this might be, we thought it best to leave these off this year, leaving you with more space to fill the days with your own diary dates!

The In The Country wall calendars are 12 month, ring bound calendars with a different design by Eleanor Tomlinson Art for each month. They will come gift-wrapped in our usual signature ITC gift-wrapping and can be posted internationally. They make great gifts we think!

Our In The Country x Eleanor Tomlinson Art Wall Calendars are £9.99 each plus postage and packing and can be ordered here. We use a great local printer who have printed all of our calendars each year since 2019.

Have a great week, here’s hoping the 2021 calendars see a little more action than their 2020 siblings.

Until next time…
Lots of love,

hollie-ella
